Terms of Use
利用規約
By using Mastermind Japanese, you agree to use the service for personal, non-commercial language learning. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You agree not to abuse, reverse-engineer, scrape, or attack the service. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. These terms may be updated at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We may set storage or retention limits for study history, and may limit or delete older session history if needed for service reliability, cost control, abuse prevention, or product changes. Files published under /legal/ that carry their own open-source or Creative Commons license (for example, the adapted KanjiVG stroke bundle) may be used under the terms of that stated license; the restrictions above apply to Mastermind's proprietary app content, not to those explicitly-licensed files.

Beta Notice
ベータ版に関する注意事項
Mastermind Japanese is currently offered as a public beta, operated by Jason Kobayashi (Tokyo, Japan). The service may contain bugs, incomplete content, inaccurate study recommendations, downtime, and data loss. Features, study records, and account data may be changed, reset, or deleted during the beta period. The service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time. Do not rely on Mastermind as your only record of study progress. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
Study material may be AI-assisted and may contain mistakes, omissions, or outdated information. Users should verify important language-learning content independently.
Mastermind Japanese is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Teen learners are welcome, but minors should use the service with a parent or guardian's awareness. If you are under 13, or below the age at which you may consent to online services where you live, please do not create an account or provide personal information unless your parent or guardian has given any required consent. If we learn we collected personal information from a child under 13 without required consent, we will delete it.

Data Controller: GETTYS L JASON (trade name: Jason Kobayashi), RJ3, 2-16-12 Jiyugaoka, Meguro-ku, Tokyo 152-0035, Japan. Data-protection requests (access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability) are received by email at the privacy contact at the end of this section; we may confirm your identity by sending a verification challenge to the requesting address, and for formal access/deletion requests we may ask for additional identity verification proportionate to the sensitivity of the data. We aim to respond within 30 days of a verified request. Complaints about our handling of your personal data can be sent to the same contact, or you may lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority where applicable.
We collect the minimum data needed to provide and protect the study experience:
- Login identity - we keep your verified account contact email so we can send sign-in and account notices. Optional password - stored securely, never in plain text. Google Sign-In (if you use it) - we keep Google's stable account identifier plus your verified Google email as your account contact email; we do not store your Google name or profile photo. Study information — your answers, progress, session history, grades, and bookmarks. Optional speaking practice - microphone audio is processed on your device and is not uploaded; the words it recognizes and basic details about each attempt may be sent to Mastermind. Server logs - IP address, user agent, timestamps, for security and service operation.
- Product-update emails are optional. You can turn them off in Settings. Sign-in and account notices are separate.
- Account and study data are stored in a managed database operated by a service provider. Depending on provider infrastructure, data may be processed outside your country or region. Authentication tokens for new sign-ins are kept in browser sessionStorage for the active browser session. Legacy localStorage tokens may be migrated once and then removed. A short-lived functional cookie remembers if you dismissed an optional sign-in prompt so we don't keep showing it. No cookies are used for analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking.
- We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or cross-site tracking of any kind.
- Feedback submissions — if you send feedback from the /feedback page, we store the text you enter (type, area, message) in our database so we can respond to or act on it. Screenshots are stored privately. Only you and the operator can open them after signing in. We tell browsers not to save copies of these responses and search engines not to index them. Feedback content is visible to the operator on the admin dashboard. Feedback is retained while your account is active unless you request deletion; attached screenshots are retained on the same basis and can be deleted on request.
We keep sign-in details for your current browser session. Older sign-in details stored on this browser may be moved once, and the old copy removed. This storage is used for sign-in, not advertising or tracking.
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data, including hashed passwords, access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS), limiting email-address exposure in routine product and operator views, using account handles where practical, and regular security/dependency review. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

データ管理者：GETTYS L JASON（屋号：Jason Kobayashi）。事業用住所：〒152-0035 東京都目黒区自由が丘二丁目十六番十二号 RJ3。データ保護に関するリクエスト（アクセス、訂正、削除、処理の制限、処理への異議、データポータビリティ）はセクション末尾のプライバシー連絡先でメール受付けとしています。リクエスト送信元アドレスへ確認チャレンジを送ることで本人確認を行う場合があり、正式なアクセス・削除リクエストでは対象データの機微性に応じて追加の本人確認をお願いする場合があります。確認済みリクエストに対しては30日以内の回答を目指します。当社の個人データ取扱いに関する苦情は同連絡先までお送りいただくか、該当する場合はデータ保護監督機関へ申し立てることもできます。
学習体験の提供と保護に必要な最小限のデータを収集します：
- ログイン識別情報 - サインインおよびアカウント通知のために、確認済みのアカウント連絡先メールを保存します。オプションのパスワード - 平文では保存せず、安全に保存します。Google サインイン（利用した場合）- Google の安定したアカウント識別子と、確認済み Google メールをアカウント連絡先メールとして保存します。Google の氏名やプロフィール画像は保存しません。学習情報 — 回答、進捗、セッション履歴、成績、ブックマーク。任意のスピーキング練習 - マイク音声はデバイス上で処理され、アップロードされません。認識された言葉と、各練習の基本的な情報がMastermindに送られる場合があります。サーバーログ - IPアドレス、ユーザーエージェント、タイムスタンプ（セキュリティおよびサービス運用のため）。
- 製品の更新メールを受け取るかどうかは任意です。設定から配信を停止できます。ログインやアカウントに関する通知は別に送られます。
- アカウントおよび学習データは、サービスプロバイダーが運用する管理データベースに保存されます。プロバイダーのインフラ構成により、お住まいの国または地域外でデータが処理される場合があります。新しいサインインの認証トークンは、現在のブラウザセッション用にブラウザのsessionStorageに保存されます。過去のlocalStorageトークンがある場合は、一度だけ移行して古いコピーを削除することがあります。任意のサインインプロンプトを閉じた場合、再表示を控えるため短期間の機能的な Cookie を保存します。分析、広告、またはクロスサイトトラッキング用の Cookie は使用していません。
- サードパーティの分析ツール、広告トラッカー、クロスサイトトラッキングは一切使用していません。
- フィードバック送信内容について — /feedback ページからフィードバックを送信された場合、当社は入力された内容（種別、対象、本文）をデータベースに保存し、対応や改善に利用します。スクリーンショットは非公開で保存されます。ログインしたご本人と運営者だけが開けます。ブラウザには取得した内容のコピーを保存しないよう、検索エンジンには検索対象にしないよう指定しています。フィードバック内容は管理ダッシュボード上で運営者が閲覧します。フィードバックはアカウントが有効な間保持され、削除をリクエストされない限り保持されます。添付されたスクリーンショットも同様で、リクエストにより削除可能です。
ログイン情報は、現在のブラウザセッションのために保存します。このブラウザに残っている古いログイン情報を一度だけ移し、元のコピーを削除する場合があります。この保存はログインのためのもので、広告や追跡には使いません。
パスワードのハッシュ化、アクセス制御、暗号化通信（HTTPS）、通常の製品画面および運用画面でのメールアドレス露出の制限、可能な場合のアカウントハンドル利用、定期的なセキュリティおよび依存関係の確認など、合理的なセキュリティ対策を講じてデータを保護しています。完全なセキュリティを保証するシステムは存在せず、絶対的なセキュリティを保証することはできません。
法令で認められた正式なプライバシー権利行使（アクセス、訂正、削除、制限、異議申立、ポータビリティ）、またはデータ保護に関する懸念のご報告は、support@mastermindjapanese.com までお送りください。ログインでお困りの場合は、support@mastermindjapanese.com にメールをお送りください。それ以外のご質問は、ログインして「サポート」を開いてください。

Changes from upstream: path coordinates normalized and re-bundled for in-app playback; stroke-order information itself is unchanged.

AivisSpeech Generated Audio
AivisSpeech 生成オーディオ
We use AivisSpeech to make pronunciation clips and some listening audio in advance. The app plays those recordings; it does not generate speech while you study. We do not redistribute the engine or voice-model weights.
- Pronunciation audio uses にせ (ノーマル); listening dialogue validation audio uses にせ (ノーマル) and まお (ノーマル). Model page IDs: 6d11c6c2-f4a4-4435-887e-23dd60f8b8dd and a59cb814-0083-4369-8542-f51a29e72af7.
- Pre-generated WAV/MP3 audio clips produced offline under ACML 1.0 terms; used as pronunciation and listening-comprehension reference audio for language learning — a use that falls outside the ACML 1.0 prohibited-use categories.
- Generated audio is not official content and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Aivis Project, AivisHub, the model creators, or the speakers/characters represented by the voice models. Model names are used here solely for attribution.

Optional speaking practice can run a speech recognizer entirely in your browser. Mastermind hosts the Transformers.js and ONNX Runtime files used for speaking checks. Whisper model files download from Hugging Face and are not modified.

Kanji-Reading Converter
漢字読み変換
Speaking practice checks whether the browser recognized the target reading; it does not grade pronunciation accuracy. The converter checks the reading of the words your browser heard. Mastermind hosts the converter and its dictionary.
