Terms of Use
利用規約
By using Mastermind Japanese, you agree to use the service for personal, non-commercial language learning. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You agree not to abuse, reverse-engineer, scrape, or attack the service. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. These terms may be updated at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We may set storage or retention limits for study history, and may limit or delete older session history if needed for service reliability, cost control, abuse prevention, or product changes. Files published under /legal/ that carry their own open-source or Creative Commons license (for example, the adapted KanjiVG stroke bundle) may be used under the terms of that stated license; the restrictions above apply to Mastermind's proprietary app content, not to those explicitly-licensed files.
Mastermind Japanese を利用することで、本サービスを個人的かつ非商用の語学学習のために使用することに同意したものとします。アカウント認証情報の管理はご自身の責任で行ってください。サービスの悪用、リバースエンジニアリング、スクレイピング、攻撃を行わないことに同意します。これらの規約に違反するアカウントは、停止または終了する権利を留保します。規約は随時更新される場合があり、変更後の継続利用は同意とみなされます。サービスの信頼性、コスト管理、不正利用防止、または製品変更のために必要な場合、学習履歴の保存量や保存期間に制限を設け、古いセッション履歴を制限または削除することがあります。/legal/ 配下で独自のオープンソースまたはクリエイティブ・コモンズ・ライセンスを明示して公開されているファイル（たとえば調整済みの KanjiVG ストロークデータ束）は、それぞれのライセンス条件に従って利用できます。上記の制限は Mastermind 独自のアプリコンテンツに対して適用されるものであり、これらの明示的にライセンスされたファイルには適用されません。
Beta Notice
ベータ版に関する注意事項
Mastermind Japanese is currently offered as a free public beta, operated by Jason Kobayashi (Tokyo, Japan). The service may contain bugs, incomplete content, inaccurate study recommendations, downtime, and data loss. Features, study records, and account data may be changed, reset, or deleted during the beta period. The service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time. Do not rely on Mastermind as your only record of study progress. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
Study material may be AI-assisted and is reviewed for accuracy, but it may contain mistakes, omissions, or outdated information. Users should verify important language-learning content independently.
Mastermind Japanese is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Teen learners are welcome, but minors should use the service with a parent or guardian's awareness. If you are under 13, or below the age at which you may consent to online services where you live, please do not create an account or provide personal information unless your parent or guardian has given any required consent. If we learn we collected personal information from a child under 13 without required consent, we will delete it.

Data Controller: GETTYS L JASON (trade name: Jason Kobayashi), RJ3, 2-16-12 Jiyugaoka, Meguro-ku, Tokyo 152-0035, Japan. Data-protection requests (access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability) are received by email at the privacy contact at the end of this section; we may confirm your identity by sending a verification challenge to the requesting address, and for formal access/deletion requests we may ask for additional identity verification proportionate to the sensitivity of the data. We aim to respond within 30 days of a verified request. Complaints about our handling of your personal data can be sent to the same contact, or you may lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority where applicable.
We collect the minimum data needed to provide and protect the study experience:
- Login identity - we keep your verified account contact email so we can send sign-in and account notices. Optional password - stored securely, never in plain text. Google Sign-In (if you use it) - we keep Google's stable account identifier plus your verified Google email as your account contact email; we do not store your Google name or profile photo. Study progress - concept states, session history, grades, bookmarks. Server logs - IP address, user agent, timestamps, for security and service operation.
- Account and study data are stored in a managed database operated by a service provider. Depending on provider infrastructure, data may be processed outside your country or region. Authentication tokens are stored in your browser's localStorage for session persistence. A short-lived functional cookie remembers if you dismissed an optional sign-in prompt so we don't keep showing it. No cookies are used for analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking.
- We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or cross-site tracking of any kind.
- Feedback submissions — if you send feedback from the /feedback page, we store the text you enter (type, area, message) in our database so we can respond to or act on it. If you attach a screenshot, it is stored server-side at a randomized URL accessible only by knowledge of that URL, with no-store cache headers and no search-engine indexing; we are moving this behind an authenticated endpoint as a follow-up. Feedback content is visible to the operator on the admin dashboard. Feedback is retained while your account is active unless you request deletion; attached screenshots are retained on the same basis and can be deleted on request.
We use browser localStorage to keep you signed in. This is necessary for authentication and is not used for advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking. You can clear it by signing out or clearing your browser data.
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data, including hashed passwords, access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS), limiting email-address exposure in routine product and operator views, using account handles where practical, and regular security/dependency review. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

学習体験の提供と保護に必要な最小限のデータを収集します：
- ログイン識別情報 - サインインおよびアカウント通知のために、確認済みのアカウント連絡先メールを保存します。オプションのパスワード - 平文では保存せず、安全に保存します。Google サインイン（利用した場合）- Google の安定したアカウント識別子と、確認済み Google メールをアカウント連絡先メールとして保存します。Google の氏名やプロフィール画像は保存しません。学習進捗 - 概念の状態、セッション履歴、成績、ブックマーク。サーバーログ - IPアドレス、ユーザーエージェント、タイムスタンプ（セキュリティおよびサービス運用のため）。
- アカウントおよび学習データは、サービスプロバイダーが運用する管理データベースに保存されます。プロバイダーのインフラ構成により、お住まいの国または地域外でデータが処理される場合があります。認証トークンはセッション維持のためブラウザのlocalStorageに保存されます。任意のサインインプロンプトを閉じた場合、再表示を控えるため短期間の機能的な Cookie を保存します。分析、広告、またはクロスサイトトラッキング用の Cookie は使用していません。
- サードパーティの分析ツール、広告トラッカー、クロスサイトトラッキングは一切使用していません。
- フィードバック送信内容について — /feedback ページからフィードバックを送信された場合、当社は入力された内容（種別、対象、本文）をデータベースに保存し、対応や改善に利用します。スクリーンショットを添付された場合は、そのURLを知っている場合のみアクセス可能なランダム化URLにサーバー側で保存され、no-storeキャッシュヘッダーを付与し検索エンジンのインデックスも禁止しています。今後、認証済みエンドポイントの背後に移行予定です。フィードバック内容は管理ダッシュボード上で運営者が閲覧します。フィードバックはアカウントが有効な間保持され、削除をリクエストされない限り保持されます。添付されたスクリーンショットも同様で、リクエストにより削除可能です。
ログイン状態を維持するためにブラウザのlocalStorageを使用しています。これは認証に必要なもので、広告、分析、クロスサイトトラッキングには使用していません。サインアウトまたはブラウザデータの消去で削除できます。
パスワードのハッシュ化、アクセス制御、暗号化通信（HTTPS）、通常の製品画面および運用画面でのメールアドレス露出の制限、可能な場合のアカウントハンドル利用、定期的なセキュリティおよび依存関係の確認など、合理的なセキュリティ対策を講じてデータを保護しています。完全なセキュリティを保証するシステムは存在せず、絶対的なセキュリティを保証することはできません。

Kanji writing stroke playback uses a normalized bundle derived from KanjiVG for the currently live beginner kanji set.
- KanjiVG is copyright Ulrich Apel. Source Project: https://github.com/KanjiVG/kanjivg
- Mastermind Japanese ships an adapted stroke-path bundle for in-product playback and exposes that bundle from this site. Per the ShareAlike clause, the adapted bundle is itself released under CC BY-SA 3.0 — the same license as upstream KanjiVG. Changes from upstream: path coordinates normalized and re-bundled for in-app playback; stroke-order information itself is unchanged.
- KanjiVG and Ulrich Apel do not endorse Mastermind Japanese or this adapted bundle. The KanjiVG name and the author's name are used here solely for attribution under CC BY-SA 3.0.

Kanji writing practice uses a trimmed Kanji Canvas recognition bundle for the currently supported N5 kanji set. Recognition runs locally in the browser; drawing strokes are not uploaded.

AivisSpeech Pronunciation Audio
AivisSpeech 発音オーディオ
Japanese vocabulary pronunciation is generated offline using the AivisSpeech Engine (LGPL-3.0) together with the にせ (ノーマル) voice model (ACML 1.0). Audio is pre-generated and served as static files — no live text-to-speech runs at runtime, and we do not redistribute the engine or voice-model weights.
- Pronunciation audio generated with the にせ (ノーマル) model via the AivisSpeech Engine. Model UUID: 6d11c6c2-f4a4-4435-887e-23dd60f8b8dd.
- Pre-generated WAV pronunciation clips produced offline under ACML 1.0 terms; used as pronunciation reference audio for language-learning — a use that falls outside the ACML 1.0 prohibited-use categories.
- Generated audio is not official content and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Aivis Project, AivisHub, the model creator, or the speaker/character represented by the voice model. The model name is used here solely for attribution.
日本語の語彙発音は、AivisSpeech Engine（LGPL-3.0）と にせ（ノーマル）音声モデル（ACML 1.0）を組み合わせてオフラインで生成しています。音声は事前生成済みの静的ファイルとして配信され、実行時にライブ音声合成は行いません。エンジンおよび音声モデルの重みは再配布していません。
